The Hendry County Economic Development Council (EDC) Board of Directors and staff welcomed their new Executive Director, Keitha Daniels to the organization in October 2018.
Daniels, who succeeds previous Executive Director Brent Kettler, will lead the EDC’s efforts in support of economic development through small business growth, talent development, and asset and community development.
Ms. Daniels is a graduate of LaBelle High School with a background in healthcare administration. In 2014 she returned to Hendry County where she worked for the Board of County Commissioners and has been an advocate for increased opportunities and quality of life in LaBelle.
Serving as the President of the LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation for two years, she was able to successfully secure funding for improvements in the downtown district as well as create opportunities for growth which allowed sixteen new businesses to open their doors.
“Hendry County has many opportunities for growth right now, and we need a leader who understands the community and its people,” stated Tuesday Tritt, president of the EDC Board of Directors. “Keitha is the right person to guide the EDC and nurture important relationships. Technology and agricultural growth, as well as small business development, are amongst her highest priorities and we’re excited to have her leading our team”.
The EDC office is located at 644 S. Main Street in LaBelle. They are open Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm. Ms. Daniels is in the process of securing a Clewiston office in order to better serve both sides of the County.
